The festive season is upon us. If you need some inspiration to help you get into the spirit, here’s a few things to do around Manchester in the following weeks.
Melanin Markets: Sunday, 4 December, Contact Theatre
Returning to Contact for its second year, Melanin Markets encourages, promotes and celebrates Manchester’s Black Businesses and community. With more than 40 stores attending, it’s the perfect opportunity to do your Christmas shopping.
Mad Friday xmas party: Friday, 16 December, Love Factory
With DJs, immersive visuals, live bands, karaoke booths and regular happy hours, this is the perfect way to celebrate the end of semester – plus tickets are free!
Lightwaves outdoor light festival: 1-4 December, Salford Quays and Media City
Staged at locations around Salford, Lightwaves is a free festival bringing illuminated art and audio-visual experiences to the dark winter nights.
Metropolitan Mayor DJ Battle: Friday, 2 December, Mayfield Depot
Support Manchester’s Mayor as he hits the decks at WHP, with special guests yet to be announced. The battle will help raise funds for A Bed Every Night, a charity helping to end homelessness in Greater Manchester. You can use the code ‘Friend50’ to get 50% off your tickets as a student.
Road to Victory: Depot Mayfield
Watch football come home in Europe’s largest immersive world cup fan park. Although not strictly Christmas themed, the electric atmosphere will definitely get you in a celebratory spirit. Keep your eyes peeled for ticket releases for the next stage of the tournament after last night’s big win!
As always, if you’re hosting any gigs or events in the leadup to Christmas (or indeed at any point throughout the year), we’d love to help promote them via our socials. All you need to do is email marketing@spiritstudios.ac.uk with some brief info about the event including;
- When and where
- What your involvement is (e.g. performer, FOH, organiser)
- Details as to how those interested can sign up, including a link if necessary
