As well as working on your hand-ins and assessments, take some time to get prepared ahead of time with the practicalities of submitting work. For many of you this won’t be the first time you’re submitting work, but it won’t hurt to check over your deadline dates and times, and how to submit your work.
If you need a little refresher, here’s a short guidance video on prepping and zipping files for uploading onto classrooms.
We’d also recommend familiarising yourself with our advice on plagiarism, and how to reference guidance. In this section of the Student Hub you’ll also find support resources on report and essay writing, and using links to UCLan’s library resources, which you can access.
Extensions and Mitigating circumstances
We’re aware that sometimes you will face difficulties outside of your control that may prevent you from meeting assessment deadlines. In these cases, it’s possible to apply for an extension on your deadline. There are two types of extensions;
- Short Extension, 1-10 days: this must be requested before your deadline, and can’t be granted after the deadline has passed.
- Extenuating/Mitigating Circumstances – longer than 10 days: this is for more serious circumstances and you’ll need evidence to support your request. Applications received more than 7 days after the assignment or coursework deadline may not be considered.
For more information on extensions and mitigating circumstances, and to access the forms see the Student Hub.
