We’re proud to support the Mental Health Foundation this Mental Health Awareness Week – 13 to 19 May.
This years theme is movement: moving more for our mental health. Everyone can get the mental health benefits of moving more, it’s all about finding what works for you. Get involved by finding and sharing your moments for movement this Mental Health Awareness Week.

Movement
Moving our bodies is important for our mental health. Yet research by the Mental Health Foundation shows that more than a third of UK adults find it challenging to find the time for movement. Movement doesn’t have to be intensive exercise, any way to get your body moving can be beneficial for mental health.
If you’re short for time, why not use the time you spend waiting to move? If you’re exporting work or downloading files and have a spare minute, try and squeeze in some stretches, stand up and move around the room. Every little helps.
Whether that’s walking to uni, taking the stairs or wandering around the block for a listening break, any chance you find to move around is worth taking and can help your mental and physical health.

Movement in music
Although it might not be obvious, the music industry is filled with movement which can benefit your mental health. Music and dance are an age old pair which excite emotions and expression. Consider the different types of movement and dance that can be brought on by music. From foot tapping along to your headphones, to crowd surfing at a festival, full scale ballet productions or letting loose at home. Try and embrace these moments as they will add up!
