With end of the year submissions and deadlines fast approaching we want you to know we are here to support you and help manage your wellbeing. It’s importance to balance work with looking after your mental and physical health. There are a number of student support resources that are available to help you through the end of the year.
Study support
There are a number of different resources to help you. First and foremost your tutors are the best point of call, make sure to communicate with them and make use of lessons and tutorials.
The Study Zone is a dedicated quiet space for you to get your head down and work on assignments. There are a number of mac workstations and lots of desk space available. There is also a library of academic music books that will be useful for referencing works (request for the key at reception). The Study Zone is open 7 days a week through the buildings opening hours:
8:30AM – 10PM Monday to Friday
9:45AM – 6PM Saturday and Sunday
Refer back to the Google Classroom where all your lesson slides and content can be found. This will be particularly useful if there are certain topics you are focussing on in your submissions.
Don’t burn yourself out
Make sure to plan downtime and rest around working on hand-ins and assignments. Try and plan your time so you have dedicated time to work, and dedicated time to relax and unwind. Don’t forget, you’ll work, focus and perform better when you’re rested.
Student welfare
If you are struggling or would like some support you can arrange a confidential welfare appointment with Sarah our student welfare officer. Appointments can take place, online, over email, telephone or face to face. Simply email studentwelfare@spiritstudios.ac.uk to book an appointment.
