Changes to studios and credit values.

Over the winter break we’ve made a few updates to our facilities, as well as changing the credit values of some studios, following student feedback.

Studio changes

• Both our DJ booths have been upgraded and optimised – read about all the changes here.
• Nord Lead 2X and Access Virus TI synths have been installed in Audient Suite 1
• We’ve added a GoPro in the Shared Live Room and put a screen in the Mastering Studio to help facilitate recording sessions between these rooms
• In Edit Suite 2 we’ve put a Traktor S4 MK3 controller and Macbook Pro in place of the old DJ setup, offering a controller based set-up.

New sign-out equipment

• We’ve bought two new Macbook Airs to replace the old Macbook packs, which can now be signed out. The old Macbook Packs have been wiped and are still be available for non-audio use – accessing email or Google Workspace.
• We’ve also got a new trolley to move larger items of sign-out equipment around the building.

Changes to studio credits

We’ve now reduced the credit values for the following:

• Mastering Studio – from 35 credits per hour (on-peak) to 25 credits per hour
• S6 Suite – from 40 credits per hour (on-peak) to 25 credits per hour
• Allen & Heath Booth – from 20 credits per hour (on-peak) to 15 credits per hour
• Pioneer Booth – from 20 credits per hour (on-peak) to 15 credits per hour
